Stay alert, control the virus, save lives
We're working closely with lead health organisations to ensure that the people of Chesterfield are protected and kept well informed.
In England, face coverings must now be worn in shops and shopping centres, in transport hubs and on public transport.
Following the latest update from Government, we are now asking customers to wear a face covering in the Customer Services Centre, Visitor Information Centre, Pavements Shopping Centre and in the Market Hall, unless they are exempt.
In other indoor settings where a face covering is not legally required, you should still continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with other people you do not normally meet.
Further information is available on the Government website.
You can also find information on the NHS website.
There are some places where people must wear a face covering by law. Businesses can download a face covering poster to print out and display to ensure people are aware of the requirement to wear a face covering on their premises.
NHS test and trace
If you’re a contact of someone who may have been infected with the Omicron variant, you must self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of your age or vaccination status.
