The sport and leisure team at Chesterfield Borough Council is looking to recruit a level two gymnastics coach to deliver its programme at Queen's Park Sports Centre on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months as maternity cover.

Why work for us?

We accommodate almost over 700 children on our trampoline and gymnastics programme each week.

Coaching and developing children with key skills, which remains core to our programme. Our programme is delivered across a range of abilities from learners to competitive academy, so come and join us.

We need to recruit a coach as cover for maternity leave for 18.75 hours a week.

  • Monday: 9am to 12.15pm
  • Tuesday: 4pm to 8pm
  • Thursday: 4pm to 7pm
  • Saturday: 9am to 5pm

Candidates should be qualified to British Gymnastics level two, but we are keen to also attract anyone with a level one qualification, particularly those who want to develop through our training programme to gain a level two.

We like our coaches to show a degree of flexibility to meet customer demand within the opening hours of the service where new opportunities are identified.

We expect an innovative and high-quality coaching service to be delivered to meet our customer’s needs. All team members will be expected to provide support to the service covering colleague absences for training and holidays.

We will support you to continue on-going professional development and training. We pride ourselves in paying a very competitive salary, £12.38 per hour for level one and £17.70 per hour for level two, through applying a market supplement.

The successful candidate will be subject to a disclosure carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
