We are looking to appoint an experienced, commercially focussed, retail professional, who has a wide knowledge of town centre retail in all it's formats, be it markets, high street stores or shopping centres.
In this ever-changing retail world, high streets are on a journey to re-invent themselves.
Our markets and shopping centre are at the forefront of our vision for the future of the town centre.
We are currently investing significantly in our market through the Revitalising the Heart of Chesterfield project, where you will assist the project team and work with traders to ensure we deliver a vibrant, welcoming, and dynamic space where traders can sell their wares effectively, events can entertain, and the space be enlivened for everyone to enjoy and benefit from.
The Pavements Shopping centre sits alongside our market and is a major asset to the town centre. We need to ensure it benefits and thrives from the multi-million-pound investment in the town centre that the council has secured from the Levelling Up Fund. Your experience in retail will help shape the centre’s future, encompassing both future retail and leisure use and demand.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a busy market, market hall and shopping centre, managing and developing a large team, reviewing, challenging, and adjusting performance levels whilst building excellent relationships and being a strong leader of people with excellent interpersonal skills.
Alongside this, you will also be supporting market traders and retail tenants, demonstrating the highest levels of customer service. Experience of managing significant income budgets, health & safety, maintenance, tenancy management, marketing and events are all essential requirements for this position.
If you have the enthusiasm, drive, and experience we would love to hear from you!
