An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team providing an Internal Audit service to Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Councils. You will be responsible for ensuring that your team continues to meet the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and for assisting the Head of the Internal Audit Consortium in the management, development and continuous improvement of the team.  The post will be based predominantly in North East Derbyshire leading a small team but may involve working at any of the Consortium’s partner locations.

Applicants should have good inter-personal skills, be able to communicate assertively, work to deadlines with the minimum of supervision and have experience in an internal audit environment.  Preferably you will have experience of managing staff. The successful candidate will have strong report writing skills, the ability to challenge, investigate, test and assess risks within the organisation. You will also be required to support the development of strong risk management, corporate governance and assurance arrangements.

The successful candidate will be Association of Accounting Technicians qualified or a part qualified member of an accounting institute (or equivalent).  

A basic disclosure check will be required from the Disclosure and Barring Service to obtain access to the National Fraud Initiative database.
