Chesterfield Glow Up is an exciting new event for the town centre. The centrepiece of the event is a light show on the Market Hall which has been created by internationally renowned projection art company, Illuminos, as part of the Animate Chesterfield programme.
The projection lighting show will start at 7pm and the performance will run on a repeating loop until 8pm.
Fun fair rides including a 35m giant observation wheel, vintage Helter Skelter and Carousel will be in New Square from 12 noon on Friday and all day on Saturday.
Local musicians will be performing at intervals 12 noon until 6.45pm on both days – a full listing of performances will be shared ahead of the event.
My Arty Party will be hosting a free craft workshop from 4pm to 8pm on both days. You will be able to create custom paper lanterns decorated with silhouettes and tissue paper using objects depicted in the projection light show. An LED tealight will be provided to illuminate lanterns.
Free UV face painting and glitter tattoos will be available from 4pm to 8pm on both days.
There will be a selection of street entertained on both days:
-

-

-
After sunset on both days Lumen Array will be performing a mesmeric fusion of music and light, perfectly synchronised within a high-tech array of LEDs, and state of the art LED pixel poi displaying beautiful imagery.
