Chesterfield based illustrator Sally Anderson has created unique festive trails in shop windows across the town centre in both 2024 and 2025.
An illustrator with a passion for creating art that brings joy and creativity to communities. Sally has worked on everything from children’s book illustrations to large-scale murals, including a large NHS mural project, and created some Christmas magic for Chesterfield.
In 2024 ‘Robin’s Lost Letters’ featured twelve festive designs that told the story of a Robin travelling around Chesterfield collecting letters. These were drawn onto the windows of twelve businesses based around the town centre.
More than 500 people took part in the trail which ran from November 2024 to January 2025.
Sally also hosted a workshop during the Christmas Lights Switch On event engaging more than 200 people.
In 2025 Sally returned to create the ‘Merry Baubles Trail’. The illustrated window scenes were packed with colour, warmth, and festive sparkle, celebrating the joy of the season.
Each bauble told a tiny Christmas story — from snowy streets to bustling markets — capturing the heart of Chesterfield in miniature.
The trail, like its predecessor in 2024 each window design contained a hidden letter with participants encouraged to find all the letters and solve the secret phrase to claim a prize.
More than 500 people took part in the trail which ran from November 2025 to January 2026.
She also hosted a workshop at Old Hall Juniors in Brampton where she helped 250 pupils create their own unique baubles to take home.
