The council has a duty to comply with regulations relating to seven areas of landlord health and safety.
These are:
- asbestos
- electrical
- fire
- gas
- lifts
- water safety
- damp, mould and condensation
Asbestos safety is captured in a corporate policy, but separate housing service policies are required for the other areas.
