We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a genuine passion for health and fitness and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will need excellent communication skills, a positive can‑do attitude, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and colleagues.

In this role, you will work across our referral programme, delivering consultations, providing tailored advice, and offering programme updates to support a diverse range of customers in achieving their personal fitness goals.

Positivity, enthusiasm, and flexibility are key qualities that will help you contribute to the delivery of our cutting‑edge services at Queens Park Sports Centre, The Healthy Living Centre, and other community venues across Chesterfield Borough.

We are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our community and are looking for like‑minded individuals who can help drive the service forward - supporting member retention while also attracting and engaging new participants.

Applicants must hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent) and an Exercise Referral Instructor qualification.

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • BACR Cardiac Rehab Phase 4 (Wright Foundation)
  • Level 4 Cancer Rehab (Wright Foundation)

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a disclosure check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.
