Calling all carers in Chesterfield!

Carers in Chesterfield are invited to a free event by the Chesterfield Equality and Diversity Forum.

Hosted alongside various organisations, the aim of the event is to provide information and signposting on matters such as benefit entitlement and support.

Chesterfield residents who care for a family member, friend or neighbour with a long-term illness or disability are encouraged to come along and see what support is available.

The event will take place Tuesday 12 November between 10am and 2pm at Grace Chapel in Chesterfield town centre.

Councillor Judy Staton, cabinet member for governance said, “Caring for someone is a responsibility that can demand a great deal of the carer, emotionally as well as physically. This event will help you reach out, get help and advice.

“It is also a chance to meet other people in similar situations, even if you don’t see yourself as a carer, so come along and find out more.”

Partners attending the event, including Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, BrightLife, Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre, Healthwatch Derbyshire and many more, will be on hand throughout to offer advice and support information.

Tea, coffee and cake will also be available, free of charge.

Booking is not necessary for this free event, but if you have any questions or accessibility requirements, please contact: policyteam@chesterfield.gov.uk or call the policy team on 01246 959644.
