Refurbished gym now open at the Healthy Living Centre

New gym refurbish at Healthy Living Centre

Gym users in Chesterfield can now enjoy new state-of-the art equipment as the Healthy Living Centre gym reopens following a refurbishment.

The refurbishment, which includes investment in new equipment from Pulse Fitness, aims to provide gym users with the best experience possible, alongside the opportunity to embrace wellness in a way that suits them.

Councillor Steve Lismore, Chesterfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing said: “The gym at the Healthy Living Centre in Staveley is renewed, refreshed, and reimagined, and is open for everyone.

“The gym offers a friendly community feel and welcomes people from all backgrounds and experience. Staff are on hand to help, whether you are a complete beginner to gym-based activity or if you need advice to get more out of your regular fitness routine.

“I encourage residents of Chesterfield to come along, meet the friendly team at the Healthy Living Centre and give the new gym a go.”

With the refurbishment at the Healthy Living Centre now complete, the gym at Queen’s Park Sports Centre will be closed to allow for gym refurbishment to take place from Monday 23 September and is set to reopen on Monday 7 October.

All other facilities at the Queen’s Park Sports centre, including the swimming pools, will remain open throughout the refurbishment period.

People with memberships for the centre will be able to use the newly refurbished gym at the Healthy Living Centre whilst works take place.

Following the refurbishment, gym goers will be able to benefit from an enhanced fitness experience as the council is set to launch a new app which will help with the overall gym experience and assist with individual training plans, in addition to some advanced features on a selection of the new cardiovascular equipment.
