The Chesterfield Community Safety Plan 2025 to 2028 sets out the borough’s collective approach to reducing crime, anti social behaviour and vulnerability across local neighbourhoods.
Developed by the Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership (CSP), the plan is rooted in a detailed assessment of local crime patterns, community concerns, and wider strategic priorities. Its purpose is to ensure that people who live, work, and visit Chesterfield feel safe, supported, and confident in their communities.
The CSP brings together a broad range of statutory and voluntary organisations, including:
- Chesterfield Borough Council
- Derbyshire Constabulary
- Derbyshire County Council
- Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service
- Probation Service
- Public Health
- housing partners and community sector organisations
Member organisations work collaboratively to tackle the underlying causes of crime and disorder. This multi-agency approach ensures that interventions are targeted, evidence led, and aligned with the wider Police and Crime Plan for Derbyshire.
The plan is guided by the council’s core values of:
- making Chesterfield a thriving borough
- improving quality of life
- building a resilient council
The plan focuses not only on enforcement but on early intervention, prevention, partnership working, and long term community resilience. Over the next three years, delivery of the plan will play a central role in shaping safe neighbourhoods, supporting local prosperity, and strengthening community confidence.
