Severe weather

Weather clouds

What do you want to find out about?

We've also got information about getting ready for winter to help you stay safe, well and warm, how to cope in heatwaves, as well as how to prepare for emergencies, to help you make plans for what to do when extreme weather comes.

Bins and waste collections

When it's windy, if you can, put your bin against a wall or hedge where it will be more sheltered - but make sure it's still easy for our crew to see and get to when they come to empty it.

Bring your bin in as soon as you can after it's been emptied - empty bins are more likely to blow over, they could get broken and could cause an obstruction in the road.

Find out more about bins and recycling, including clinical collections, commercial and bulky waste.
