The Crisis and Resilience Fund provides support for Chesterfield borough residents that are experiencing financial hardship or a sudden financial crisis, and offers support to build financial resilience.

It is provided by the UK Government and is administered locally by Chesterfield Borough Council on behalf of Derbyshire County Council.

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is intended to support residents on a low-income, and can provide short-term help for residents that are facing an unexpected financial crisis.

It also offers support to invest in local services to build financial resilience, to enable individuals and communities deal with financial crises better in the long-term.

The fund will provide:

  • crisis support to eligible Chesterfield borough residents experiencing a sudden or unexpected expense or sudden loss in income (for example by providing help with essential costs including food, energy bills, and essential housekeeping items)
  • financial support towards housing costs for those who are eligible - find out more about Housing Payments here
  • improved financial resilience with a range of initiatives aimed at empowering residents, reducing the need for crisis support
  • community coordination by investing in activities and initiatives that connect and enhance the local support network
