Bulky waste terms and conditions

Before making a booking please read these terms and conditions.

Bulky collections are for domestic residential properties only.

We do not provide a house clearance service or collect from commercial properties.

Putting items out for collection:

Collections will be made on a specified day which will be allocated before payment is taken.

Non-electrical items, electrical items and upholstered furniture (following changes in regulation) will be collected by three separate vehicles. Please be aware that if a booked item is not collected on the specified day, it will be collected the next day (including Saturdays).

Items must be placed outside by 7am on the collection day, at the front of the property where the crew has easy access to collect them.

Access to the items for collection must not be restricted such as by parked vehicles, or secured gates.

Fridges and freezers must be emptied of food etc. before collection.

Items must be kept separate from any other items that are not part of the bulky waste collection.

If any items may be hard to identify they should be clearly marked as 'awaiting collection'.

What we will collect:

We will only book collections for the type of items that are listed on our website.

A maximum of ten household items and four fridges or freezers can be booked in any seven day period.

Only the items specified in the booking will be collected. Any other items placed outside the property will not be taken.

We reserve the right to refuse to collect items which we consider:

  • may endanger the health and safety of collection crews, or damage the vehicle
  • are hazardous to health, for example if infested or soiled
  • cannot be lifted, such as a rain-soaked mattress or sofa

Bags and boxes of waste must be securely fastened, and must be able to be lifted and carried safely.

A refund will not be given when a collection has been attempted but has been unsuccessful.

Changing or cancelling your booking:

The bulky waste collection can’t be amended once payment has been made - this means that the collection date can’t be moved, and the list of items booked for collection can’t be changed or added to. You will need to cancel your original collection and make a new booking.

A bulky waste collection can be cancelled (and the charge refunded) up to 12 noon on the day before the collection date by contacting our customer service centre on 01246 345345. After this time it cannot be cancelled.

Additional bookings can be made until the limit of ten household items and four fridges or freezers is reached in any seven day period.
