We've built a brand new Saltergate multi-storey car park as part of the Northern Gateway development.
Following the demolition of the old car park in spring 2018, the new multi-storey car park was officially opened on 29 July 2019.
The new car park provides 526 car parking spaces, including 32 disabled spaces (6%), 15 parent and child spaces, and 6 electric vehicle charging spaces - with a further 10 spaces for future connection as required.
The scheme offers a high quality, secure and comfortable experience for car park users including commuters and visitors to the town.
It is secured with automated speed-gates at vehicle entrances and exits, extensive CCTV coverage, and access control via ticket at the pedestrian entrance, minimising the potential for antisocial behaviour in and around the building.
