The Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010
The Act requires duty holders to:
- prevent the use of sunbeds to under 18s
- ensure that no offer is made to under 18s of the use of a sunbed
- prevent access to under 18s to restricted zones (restricted zone is a space/room, wholly or partly enclosed, where a sunbed is located)
The Department of Health have produced a guidance booklet to assist premises offering sunbeds in complying with the the legislation (see below).

Offences committed under the Act can lead to a fine not exceeding £20,000.
