Appointing someone to act on your behalf

You can appoint a relative, friend, or other representative such as an advocate to be able to speak to us and act on your behalf. 

You can appoint someone to speak to us about: 

  • your rent account including any rent arrears 
  • Council Tax 
  • another part of the housing service such as tenancy support  
  • a housing application 
  • reporting a complaint on your behalf 

You can also choose to have your correspondence sent to the person you appoint. 

What you need to provide 

To process your application, we need some information about your nominated person, including their: 

  • name 
  • address 
  • phone number and / or email address 

We also ask for a copy of any power of attorney, appointee or deputyship letters. 

How to make changes to the arrangement

Please contact us if you want to appoint a different representative, or withdraw your consent for somebody to contact us on your behalf.
