State-of-the-art new gyms now open in Chesterfield and Staveley

Residents and visitors in Chesterfield and Staveley can now enjoy new state-of-the art equipment at both of Chesterfield Borough Council’s leisure centres, as their gyms are now fully refurbished and open to all.

Queen’s Park Sports Centre and the Healthy Living Centre gyms have undergone major refurbishment, with both being transformed and fitted out with brand new Pulse Fitness equipment.

Customers will benefit from new state-of-the-art cardiovascular and cabled resistance equipment, including infotainment screens and mirror cast. In addition, the facilities have a selection of plate loaded equipment that will ensure safe training for those wanting to lift weights.

Power racks with lifting platforms have also been installed, as well as a new selection of equipment such as abdominal crunch, hip thrust, adductor and preacher curl benches.

As part of the new look, the council will be launching a new app from Pulse Fitness called TRAKK. This will further enhance members’ gym experience and aid all aspects of training, from hints and tips to full programmes, in addition to some advanced features on a selection of the new cardiovascular equipment to help customers get the best out of their training.

As well as the new equipment, both gyms have a fresh décor, lighting and flooring to enhance user experience and give a clean fresh feel to the gyms.

Councillor Amanda Serjeant, Chesterfield Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and cabinet member for finance and asset management said: “As part of our vision to put our communities first we are committed to improving the lives of people in the borough by helping people to become healthier and more active. This significant investment in our two gym facilities will benefit our communities across Chesterfield and Staveley.

“I’m delighted to see the improvements which have been made in our sports centres, and I hope the wide range of new equipment will encourage more Chesterfield and Staveley residents to come and see what’s on offer and encourage people to become more active.”

Memberships are available from just £32 per month* and give access to the recently refurbished gyms at the Healthy Living Centre and Queen’s Park Sports Centre.
