Radar keys for public toilets

You may need a RADAR key to access some disabled access toilets.

Radar is a national scheme that allows key holders to unlock any of its 9000 disabled access toilets with the same key.

Radar keys are issued at the planning and environment reception in the Customer Services Centre in Chesterfield.

They are given free of charge to qualifying residents of Chesterfield Borough Council - other local councils issue radar keys to residents of their areas.

We just need to see proof of eligibility in order to issue a Radar key:

  • blue badge
  • higher rate Disability Living Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment award confirmation showing 8 points or more

We can also accept a letter from a GP or district nurse.

Radar keys are also available to buy online from Disability Rights UK.
