Supplementary Planning Documents

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide additional guidance on matters covered by Development Plan documents.

Unlike Development Plan documents, they are not part of the statutory Development Plan. However, Supplementary Planning Documents are an important consideration in determining planning applications.

Following adoption of the Local Plan; Core Strategy in July 2013, the following SPDs were revoked:

  • Affordable and special needs housing
  • Open space and play provision
  • Sustainable design
