Birthday party terms and conditions
How to book
Book a children's party by filling in a party booking form and take it to reception at the relevant centre. We take full payment at the time of booking.
Parties are discounted by 15% if you are an Active Chesterfield member (member discount does not apply to room and table hire).
We will require all your correct contact details, including a contact phone number and an email address if you have one.
Children should not be left unattended, and a parent/guardian must remain on site throughout the party.
Cancellations
Party bookings may be cancelled with at least seven days’ notice to the centre in writing. Bookings cancelled under this time limit will be charged at full rate, unless re-let.
Please contact the Healthy Living Centre or Queen's Park Sports Centre as soon as possible to cancel your booking.
Rules for parties
Queen's Park Sports Centre: small pool party with toys, floats and rafts
- Max 40 people.
- Adults are required to be in the water with non-swimmers at all times.
Queen's Park Sports Centre: Splash pool party with inflatable
- Max 30 people.
- Children must be aged 6+
- All non-swimmers and weak swimmers must wear armbands and be supervised at all times.
- Adults are required to be in the water with non-swimmers at all times.
- No adults (ages 16+) allowed on the inflatable.
Healthy Living Centre: blue lagoon pool party
- Max 50 people.
- All non-swimmers and week swimmers must wear armbands and be supervised at all times.
- Adults are required to be in the water with non-swimmers at all times.
Pool ratios – apply to all pool parties
- Under eight, one adult to two children.
- The ratio can be increased when a third non-swimmer child wears approved flotation aids e.g. armbands with the CE mark.
Queen's Park Sports Centre: multi sports activity party
- Max 20 people
- Make up teams and play 5-a-side Football, alternative games are Basketball, Netball, and Hockey.
- You can choose one or a combination of activities. Please inform staff when booking of your choice.
- Booking time will include set up and clear away – this will be carried out by our centre attendants. However organisation and supervision of the activities will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
- Parent/guardians must remain on site throughout the booking
Healthy Living Centre: play zone
- Maximum of 25 children if having party food (self-catering or Coffee Stop café)
- Maximum of 40 children for play zone only (no food)
- Play sessions last one hour only and children will not be able to re-enter after that time.
- Parties longer than one hour are available on request at time of booking.
- Socks must be worn, and we advise you cover arms and legs.
- Food and drink must not be taken into the soft play area.
- All children must be age two to ten years and under 148cm.
