Discover the fascinating history of codebreaking during wartime and learn how to send and receive secret messages using Morse code!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll use Micro:bits to recreate the excitement of cryptic communication, bridging the past and present through coding.
Program your Micro:bit to encode and decode Morse code messages, just like the codebreakers of World War Two, who played a vital role in shaping history. Along the way, you’ll explore the basics of programming and electronics in a fun and engaging environment.
No prior experience is needed; just bring your curiosity and get ready to channel your inner codebreaker!
Places are free and are available on a drop-in basis between 12noon and 2.30pm.
This workshop will be delivered by Chesterfield Museum in partnership with Kakou.
Whilst there, don't forget to have a look at our Extraordinary Women Exhibition which tells the amazing stories of local women, presented in partnership with Derbyshire LGBT+, West Studios, and Chesterfield College.
