We are responsible for making sure that all our homes have modern facilities and are maintained to a high standard. 

We develop improvement programmes to meet the government’s Decent Homes Standard. This usually means major work is carried out including:  

  • central heating replacement 
  • roof replacement 
  • insulation 
  • uPVC double glazed windows 
  • external door replacement 
  • external painting 
  • kitchens 
  • bathrooms 

Frequently asked questions 

What is a house condition survey? 

It’s a visual inspection carried out by one of our qualified asset management officers and provides accurate information about the condition of your home. Officers will visit your property to inspect and take photographs of the building elements including: 

  • roof and loft 
  • kitchen 
  • front/rear elevations 
  • external doors 
  • bathroom 
  • windows 

Why are house condition surveys important? 

The purpose of the survey is to make sure all of our properties meet the decent homes standard and are safe and well maintained for you. Surveys are carried out every five years and help us to plan for where we need to make home improvements in the future. 

How long does a house condition survey take? 

The survey will last between 30 and 40 minutes. 

What happens before work starts? 

You will be contacted by our customer liaison team well in advance of the work starting. They will talk to you about the work and any choices you will need to make, for example tile colour or choice of flooring. They will also talk to you about your needs and answer any questions you may have. Find out more about the customer liaison service
