The winter fuel payment is a yearly payment to help people aged 65 and over with the cost of paying their heating bills.
The amount you will get depends on your circumstances. Most eligible households receive payments automatically between November and December. For payments made during Winter 2023/24, the winter fuel payment will include a ‘Pensioner Cost of Living Payment’ of between £150 and £300. The total eligible households will receive will be between £250 and £600.
If you are eligible but don’t get paid automatically you need to make a claim.
