If you would like an accessible version of a job description then please contact the Human Resources team.

Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.

This is an exciting time for you to join Chesterfield Borough Council as we look to recruit four assistant environmental service officers to our streetscene team on a seasonal basis.

Your duties will include the maintenance and cleaning of parks, play areas, landscaped areas, open spaces, verges, footpaths, and the public highway to make a proactive and positive contribution to the overall development, commercialisation, and reputation of the service.

You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis, so it is essential that successful candidates are able to work flexibly within the needs of the service.

This role involves driving council vehicles; therefore, all applicants must hold a full driving licence.

Working in local government is a highly satisfying and rewarding experience in so many ways. In return for the contribution you’ll make to our local community, you’ll enjoy an excellent range of benefits, including learning and development opportunities, leave entitlement, progressive human resources policies, access to the local government pension scheme, and discounted leisure membership.
