CBC25009 - Job description and person specification

Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.

We are currently seeking a dedicated mall attendant to join our team at the Pavements Shopping Centre.

As a mall attendant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the public areas of the shopping centre. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of operational areas such as the management suite and staff restrooms. This position also involves performing general cleaning tasks in various locations within the borough, including cleaning voids, communal stairwells, and other designated areas.

Other Responsibilities:

  • perform general cleaning tasks as directed, which may include sweeping using brushes and dust control mops, wet mopping floors, vacuum cleaning, spot cleaning carpets, power scrubbing/polishing floors, and cleaning windows
  • clean and sanitise toilets, urinals, wash hand basins, showers, and other restroom facilities
  • conduct wall cleaning, carpet cleaning, and dusting to maintain a clean and presentable environment
  • polish and wipe surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and fittings to ensure they are free from dust and dirt
  • replenish consumable items such as soap, toilet rolls, and other supplies as needed
  • adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment

Flexibility to work during weekends, evenings, and public holidays is required.

This role involves driving council vehicles; therefore, a full driving licence is essential. Please confirm this when applying.
