The role of Finance Business Partner here at Chesterfield Borough Council offers an exciting opportunity to join our finance team and contribute positively to the council’s financial operations. These newly created roles will play a key role in providing accurate financial reporting, driving efficiencies, as well as shaping the finance service This is a fantastic opportunity to join us and help make a real difference to local services which are valued by the people of Chesterfield.
Finance Business Partner (x2 roles available) role is to provide robust and accurate financial advice, analysis, and guidance to our senior managers, actively engaging with our stakeholders to help them to make informed decisions, manage budgets, and achieve value for money. In the role you will play a role in budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting, ensuring financial control and sustainability. You will also be required to support the development of financial modelling and business cases
Finance Business Partner Systems role - you will work in a fast-paced environment, building relationships, and providing specialist financial advice and support to assist in driving forward effective transformation of our finance systems and processes. You will specify finance requirements for change initiatives and ensure they are delivered. This role will ensure that high quality financial systems are in place to support financial reporting, robust financial control environment, decision making and efficient underlying processes
About you

You should be fully or part qualified accountant (CCAB or AAT) with proven experience of working within a finance environment, preferably within a public sector environment.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex information in a simple and concise way (both written and verbal) to stakeholders, adapting your style and content for the audience. You will have the ability to prioritise conflicting activities and be proactive, with strong attention to detail you will have knowledge of accounting policies, processes and systems, as well as a team player who is self-motivated, innovative and able to actively contribute to both the success of the council.
