The Private Sector Housing Team works with vulnerable homeowners and private tenants, helping them access home improvements and disabled adaptations to allow residents to live independently in their homes.

As a Technical Officer, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of Disabled Facilities Grants
  • Process grant applications, including statutory means-testing and benefit/financial assessments.
  • Recommend grants/loans for approval.
  • Oversee work on-site and process grant payments.
  • Assist with other housing support services such as Green Homes Grants, heating repairs/improvements, and essential home repairs.
  • You will visit customers in their homes to gather information, discuss their housing needs, and determine how to best meet their individual requirements, while considering relevant policies and procedures.

This role requires a valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.

You will work closely with partners to ensure repairs and adaptations are completed to the required standards and within agreed timescales.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to build trust and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
