Friday 19 to Monday 21 April 2025 is the Easter bank holiday weekend, and some of our services will be operating differently to normal.
Bin collections
Bins due to be collected on Monday 21 April will be collected on Saturday 19 April. Please make sure your bin is ready for collection by 7am as crews may be collecting at different times.
Bins due to be collected on Friday 18 April will be collected as usual.

Car parks
New Beetwell Street multi-storey car park will be closed
on Sunday 20 April, and will close at 5pm on Monday 21 April - it will be open as usual on all other days.
All other council owned car parks will be open as usual over the bank holiday period.

Customer services
The Town Hall reception, customer service centre and contact centre will be closed over the bank holiday weekend, including Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April.
You can still report issues like missed bins or littering online - see the types of issues you can report.
We will reopen as usual on Tuesday 22 April – see our normal opening times here.
Emergency housing repairs
An out-of-hours emergency repairs service will be available over the Easter weekend.
If you are a council tenant and need an emergency repair for something like a burst pipe, please call 01246 345041.
Please note: this is for emergency repairs only and the operator will not be able to transfer calls or handle other enquiries during this time.
Our normal repairs service will resume from Tuesday 22 April.

Markets and Market Hall
The Market Hall will be open from 9am to 5pm as usual on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 April, but will be closed on Sunday 20 and Monday 21 April.
The outdoor market will be open on as normal on Friday 18 April and Saturday 19 April. There will be no market on Monday 20 April.

Queen’s Park Sports Centre
Friday 18 April:
- the gym closes at 7pm
- the last booking for badminton and squash is 6pm
- the main pool will close at 6.30pm and the small pool will close at 3.30pm
- the last fitness class will be Total Body Workout at 6pm
- swimming lessons will take place as normal, apart from the following sessions which will be cancelled:
- Stage 4 – 6.30pm
- Stage 5 – 6.45pm
Monday 21 April:
- the gym will close at 7pm
- the last booking for badminton and squash is 6pm
- the main pool will close at 2.45pm and the small pool will close at 2pm
- the last fitness class will be Indoor Cycling at 5.30pm
- swimming lessons will take place as normal, apart from the following sessions which will be cancelled:
- National Lifesaving Academy - 6.15pm
- Rookies stage 2 and Stage 5 – 6.30pm
Queen’s Park Sports Centre will be open as normal on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April.
Healthy Living Centre
Friday 18 April:
- the gym will close at 7pm
- the climbing wall will close at 7pm
- the spa will close at 6pm
- the play zone will close at 6pm
- the last fitness class will be Yoga at 5.30pm
- the pool will close at 6pm
- all swimming lessons will take place as normal
Monday 21 April:
- the gym will close at 7pm
- the climbing wall will close at 7pm
- the spa will close at 6pm
- the play zone will close at 6pm
- the last fitness class will be Falls Prevention at 1.30pm
- the pool will close at 3.45pm
- children’s climbing clubs will be cancelled
- all swimming lessons will take place as normal
The Healthy Living Centre will be open as usual on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April.
