Service changes over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend

Due to the Spring Bank Holiday, there will be some changes to council services on Monday 26 May. Please see the latest updates below:

Bin collections:

Bins due to be collected on Monday 26 May will be collected on Saturday 24 May. Please make sure your bin is ready for collection by 7am as crews may be collecting at different times.

 

Customer services: 

The Town Hall Reception, Customer Services Centre and Contact Centre will be Monday 26 May. You can still report issues like missed bins or littering online using My Chesterfield and select report.

We will reopen as usual on Tuesday 27 May –  you can find details of opening times on our contact us page.

 

Homelessness help:

If you are facing homelessness as a result of an emergency situation, please call P3 Charity on 08081 692 333 for advice and assistance. 

 

Emergency council house repairs: 

An out-of-hours emergency repairs service will be available on Monday 26 May If you are a council tenant and need an emergency repair for something like a burst pipe, please call 01246 345041.

Please note this is for emergency repairs only and the operator will not be able to transfer calls or handle other enquiries during this time.

A normal repairs service will resume from Tuesday 27 May.

   

Market and Market Hall: 

The Market Hall and Market will be closed on Monday 26 May.

  

The Pavements Shopping Centre:

The centre will be open from 9am until 6pm on Monday 26 May.

  

Car Parks:

Beetwell Street car will close at 6.30pm on Monday 26 May.

All other council owned car parks will be open as usual over the Bank Holiday period.

  

Queen’s Park Sports Centre: 

  • The gym will close at 7pm
  • The last booking for badminton and squash is 6pm
  • The main pool will close at 2.45pm and the small pool will close at 2pm
  • The last fitness class will be Indoor Cycling at 5.30pm
  •  Swimming lessons will take place as normal, apart from the following sessions which will be cancelled
    • National Lifesaving Academy - 6.15pm
    • Rookies stage 2 and Stage 5 – 6.30pm

  

Healthy Living Centre:

  •  The gym will close at 7pm
  • The climbing wall will close at 7pm
  • The spa will close at 6pm
  • The play zone will close at 6pm
  • The last fitness class will be Aquacise at 12.15pm
  • The pool will close at 3.45pm 
  •  All swimming lessons will take place as normal 
  • Children’s climbing clubs will be cancelled
