The building’s managed LED lighting system provides energy consumption savings of up to 75% when compared to fluorescent lighting systems. Plus the provision of vehicle charging points aims to support the move to electric vehicles.

The colours used on the cladding system have been selected for their reference to the local brickwork and in particular the listed buildings along Saltergate which go to form part of the town centre conservation area.  These buildings typically used orange / red multi bricks with a sand faced finish.

In general darker colours are used more towards the lower part of the building elevation, with lighter colours becoming dominant as the height increases.  This helps to reduce the visual impact of a necessarily large building.

The perforations add texture and contrast to the building, breaking up its perceived bulk.  They also ensure the building is naturally ventilated.  They have been designed to minimise light spill from the building into adjacent properties.

The combination of entry control systems, CCTV monitoring and open aspects, which enhance visibility throughout the building, make it a safe and secure building for users.

The vertical circulation model is designed to offer maximum clarity of navigation and good visibility for pedestrians and vehicle users alike as they move about the building.  All parking bays are larger than those previously offered and are designed to be free of any obstructions / obstacles for easy, accessible and convenient use.

The building also offers an excellent position from which to access a whole range of town centre attractions and facilities.
