Chesterfield Market is currently undergoing a multi-million pound transformation that will revitalise and better connect key areas of the historic town centre.
Plans include a new layout to make it easier to walk around our historic market, new stalls with modern facilities for traders, and vibrant new market stall canopies in heritage colours. All town centre businesses and market stalls will be open as usual during the regeneration work.
Chesterfield market has been trading for over 800 years and we are always happy to welcome new traders.
We run a variety of markets throughout the year from regular weekly general markets, speciality events, and young persons' market to the medieval fun day each summer.
You can trade casually on our general market with no commitment, or apply for a licence and trade from the same stall every week, it's up to you. See our information for market traders below.

Artisan Market – last Sunday of the month, 10am to 3.30pm
Organised by The Market Co. the Artisan Market takes place once a month and consists of over 80 artisan market traders selling a high-quality range of authentic goods with an emphasis on all that is local, ethical and original.

To stand, please arrive at the Market Place between 8am and 9am and call the allocator on 07973 907617.

General market – Monday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 4pm
Prices:
Monday and Friday from £12.10 to £24.60.
Thursday from £20.90 to £34.40.
Saturday from £19.20 to £38.

Record fair – second Sunday of the month, 10am to 4pm
For the sale of vinyls, CDs, DVDs as well as rock and pop memorabilia.

Stalls are available for anyone aged between 5 and 25 years old and are free of charge.
