The Community Energy Fund is now open for applications in the Midlands.

This scheme is open to community groups in the region to help tackle climate change locally.

Up to £100,000 is available for groups to turn their local energy ideas into investable projects ready to secure funding.

There is a range of projects that can be funded through the Community Energy Fund, such as:

  • heat networks
  • solar power
  • wind
  • electric vehicle infrastructure
  • hydropower

There are lots of benefits to community energy projects, including:

  • boosting the local economy and attracting investment into your area
  • reducing energy bills for local people
  • inspiring your community to tackle the climate crisis
  • connecting the community by bringing people together behind a project

Applications need to be led by community organisations such as registered charities, town or parish councils, and Community Interest Companies.

Applications will be accepted by the Midlands Net Zero Hub until March 2025.
