From 24 April 2026 we will no longer provide a local land charges search service.
After this date, our Local Land Charges Register will have migrated to HM Land Registry’s national register. You will be able to access a new digital service through the HM Land Registry portal, the Business Gateway and on Gov.uk.
We will not be accepting any new searches from Friday 17 April 2026 onwards. Chesterfield Borough Council will continue to provide replies to Con29 enquiries.
Please remember to only submit the required fee of £117.40 when submitting a CON29 enquiry to us after 24 April 2026.

Payments for searches can be made by debit/credit card by calling our cashiers on 01246 936379, please quote departmental code 408 and income code 9150 0431. The cashiers will then issue you with a receipt that you can email, along with the signed EasySearch form together with a plan outlining the property boundary to local.searches@chesterfield.gov.uk.
We are unable to proceed with the search until proof of payment has been made.
Payments can not be taken after 4pm.
